The European Institute for Gender Equality is holding its second Gender Equality Forum in Brussels on 10-11 December 2024.
The Gender Equality Forum 2024 comes at a crucial time with a new European Parliament elected, and with a new European Commission taking office soon. It provides an important space for conversations on the future of gender equality in Europe until 2030. The Forum brings together experts, young voices, practitioners, and high-level decision-makers from EU institutions, national and local governments, civil society, academia, business, media, and the arts.
Bringing in a strong youth focus alongside a call to action for equality 24/7, we are building on the success of the inaugural Gender Equality Forum in 2022.
The event will feature various panel discussions, workshops, and inspirational talks. Discussions will focus on two key thematic strands:
- Taking stock of gender equality in Europe now and beyond 2025: this strand will be informed by the results of the Gender Equality Index 2024, which will be released during the Forum followed by discussions with participants.
- Tackling gender-based violence in the EU: persisting and emerging challenges and how can we address them?
