Raili Marling is Professor of English Studies at the University of Tartu, Estonia. Her main areas of research are conceptualizations of gender in postsocialist context, international travels of gender and feminist theory, the politics of affect, and representations of gender in modern and contemporary literature. Raili Marling currently leads research projects on political emotions and the representations and representability of crises. She has extensive experience in conducting applied research on gender issues, for example co-editing the past two editions of the collection Teel tasakaalustatud ühiskonda, the analysis of the state of gender equality in Estonia, published every ten years.
