Karolina Kubacka is a lawyer who began feminist advocacy at the Women’s Rights Center in Wrocław, Poland. For two years, she advised MEP Dr. Sylwia Spurek, Vice Chair of the FEMM Committee in the European Parliament. Karolina took part in the negotiation for the first EU law dealing with gender-based violence: the EU Directive on Violence against Women. She also worked on non-legislative acts such as the report on sexual harassment in the EU and the MeToo evaluation. A published author, Karolina, has researched the EU’s accession to the Istanbul Convention and she was also an editorial board member of the report on “Cyberviolence Against Women in Poland” (a study on a representative sample of 1,000 Polish women).
