Leila Mathy is a Policy and Advocacy Consultant and steadfast advocate for social rights and gender equality. Currently, she works as a policy advisor and EU-funded project lead for several nonprofit organisations. Previously, she was a Political Specialist at the U.S. Embassy to Belgium, where she advised on policy and led the drafting of reports on human rights. Leila strives to incorporate an intersectional and gender-responsive approach throughout her work. In 2016, her article decrying the weak sexual harassment policy of her Alma Mater gained the attention of several news outlets. In 2023, she earned a distinction for her Master's dissertation on women candidates' electoral outcomes in Belgium. She holds a Bachelor's in Political Science from McGill University, and a Master's in International Social and Public Policy from the London School of Economics.
