With Ökothek women are discovering climate and environmental protection for their career. -- Heidemarie Kollatz, LIFE: Education, Environment, Equal Opportunities

The Ökothek initiative, led by the non-governmental organisation LIFE, is a catalyst for embedding gender equality within the realms of climate, energy and mobility. Responding to the urgent need for skilled professionals in the green economy, Ökothek is designed to prepare women for pivotal roles in this emerging sector. It recognises the critical importance of their participation in shaping the ecological transformation and ensuring equality in the labour market.

Principal activities of the project include:

  • continuing professional education,
  • workshops and career courses,
  • organisation of events focusing on labour market trends, featuring role models and networking opportunities,
  • individual coaching,
  • utilisation of digital platforms to share insights.

Ökothek has empowered its participants with a deeper understanding of the green economy and the requisite skills to thrive in it. The programme cultivates a supportive community for women aspiring to make a difference in the environmental sector.
