Step 5: Preparing the evaluation matrix
A gender-responsive approach can be adapted to varying requirements to prepare the evaluation matrix.
Although each institution requesting an evaluation may have its own templates and requirements, Tool #46 from the EU’s 'Better Regulation' toolbox on ‘designing the evaluation’ can help you design and harmonise the evaluation matrix.
Click to see examples of evaluation matrices that show the operationalisation of gender-responsive evaluation criteria, questions, indicators, data sources and data collection methods across various policy areas relevant to the green transition, looking at the following fictional interventions in the areas of agriculture, energy and transport:
- agriculture – ‘Sustainable Rural Empowerment Initiative (SREI) 2017-2027’;
- energy – ‘Tackling energy poverty in vulnerable households (2025-2028)’;
- transport – ‘EU Road Safety Policy framework 2021-2030 – Next steps towards “Vision Zero”’.
